We decided to do this buddy read in anticipation for Disney+ releasing the Artemis Fowl movie (which I am really nervous about, but that's another post altogether!)

Artemis Fowl is as nostalgic to me as Harry Potter, Ender’s Game, or The Golden Compass. I remember reading the books with my brother every year when they were being released and have never forgotten about the boy genius who tricked the fairies. In all honesty, Artemis Fowl might very much be the first books I read that involved the Fae...

Rereading this now as an adult I enjoyed it immensely. The story is fun, witty, and ingenious. Artemis is brilliant and calculating with his plotting and scheming, Holly is badass in her own right, but forever and always Butler will be my favorite Fowl character. If I don’t get Butler going toe-to-toe with a troll I will riot!

GOODREADS SYNOPSIS: Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is a millionaire, a genius, and above all, a criminal mastermind. But even Artemis doesn't know what he's taken on when he kidnaps a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. These aren't the fairies of bedtime stories—they're dangerous! Full of unexpected twists and turns,Artemis Fowl is a riveting, magical adventure.
