A bunch of you recommended this YA book to me on TikTok, so I said screw it, I'll read it!

Basically, set in a fantasy world, a girl lives in a dying kingdom. Her king hunted down the magical beings that kept the land healthy and prosperous in order to drink their blood to live forever. Our heroine gets dragged into a rebellion, drawing the attention of the king's enforcer, a powerful deadly dragon shifter--or drae. With his attention comes revelations about the kingdom and our MC's true heritage.

Look, there’s dragon shifting, lots of torture, lots of tyrannical rulers, a very all over the place romance...but like, dragon shifters. Kindle unlimited. It was fun and a nice depressurization for my brain with all the heavy, thickly-plotted books I’ve been reading of late. The MC was rather naive and adolescent most of the time, but--DRAGON SHIFTERS! This book was entertaining and at times brutal, with a few plot twists that made it ultimately enjoyable. I will be reading book two!
