Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews (book 45 for the year)
This was a reread for me, but my original review while short and sweet, remains unchanged! This series still remains one of my all-time favorites. The world building is superb, the characters diverse and so well developed. I've missed Kate Daniels and her Atlanta. The covers are terrible, but the story is wonderful. If you like urban fantasy and haven't given this series a go, you are missing out!
Original Goodreads review:
This series is wholly unique, full of intense action, a swarm of mythology, nothing-held-back villains, cool shapeshifters, vampires, witches, old world deities...I could go on and on. I love this book and have high hopes for the future ones. Kate is a bad ass who takes names but still maintains a vulnerability that makes you love her more and more!
